About Sub Zero Nitrogen Ice Cream

Sub Zero Nitrogen Ice Cream brings a fun and modern twist to dessert in downtown Provo, sitting right at 62 W Center St, Provo, UT 84601. The moment you walk into this ice cream shop, the atmosphere feels lively and interactive, mostly because the ice cream is prepared using liquid nitrogen right in front of customers. That process alone makes the place stand out from a typical dessert stop, and it adds a cool science-inspired experience that keeps people watching while their order comes together. The texture of the ice cream turns out incredibly smooth and fresh, which makes every scoop feel richer and creamier than expected. Alongside the frozen treats, the shop also offers coffee, making it easy to pair a warm drink with something cold and sweet during a casual afternoon downtown.

The setup at Sub Zero Nitrogen Ice Cream works well for different kinds of visits too. Some people stop by for a quick takeout order after dinner, while others prefer staying inside and enjoying the dine-in experience with friends or family. Delivery options make it convenient for nights when leaving home does not sound appealing, and the onsite service keeps things moving without losing the personalized touch. The shop has a playful energy that fits students, tourists, and locals looking for something different from the usual dessert chain. Watching clouds of nitrogen roll across the counter while flavors are mixed fresh gives the whole experience extra personality. From classic combinations to more creative flavor choices, the menu feels customizable without becoming overwhelming, and that balance helps make each visit feel relaxed, entertaining, and easy to enjoy.

The workers here so so nice and helpful! Kate and Sawyer were kind and got our orders done so quickly. The experience was really cool as well. I’ve never had house made Italian ice and it was very good. What a fun experience.

Visited for the first time two days ago. What a great fun place and the ice cream is amazing. The science theme is just awesome. So different from anywhere I've been before. The industrial interior fits it perfectly. The owner was very nice and Thomas, who prepared the ice cream with the nitrogen was so patient and amazing. He went over and above as we needed 3 double frozen to take home. I was very impressed with the many dietary options they had. They definitely have something for everyone. Highly recommend.

I love the vibe of this place. They have an eclectic collection of things here, including a Pokémon figurine dispenser and a bitcoin atm. They sell ice cream cakes, ice cream, Italian ice, and drinks such as hot chocolate. There’s even a second floor seating option.

The ice cream is great. Its super thick and creamy. Its still ice cream, but it does have its own unique feel and texture. The process of seeing the ice cream made is also really fun, and I think adds to the experience. The staff was also very friendly! And the prices arent cheap, but arent expensive and definitely worth it.

Super yummy and you can't beat ice cream made in front of you! My kid loves it and if I'm honest I love watching it haha. I love the texture I always get the custard (I've been told by an employee that's their favorite too) it has a dipping for type texture that's really unique and yummy! The flavors are organized well so it's not overwhelming to look at. A little pricey but fun experience, we had good service too. The design of the building is so cool too! There's a big spiral stair case with a little area to eat ice cream. Super cool view upstairs of the temple, nuskin building, and the nebo mountain? In the back.

Sub zero is such a cool experience! I love how you can mix any flavors you want to make it custom, and they have sooo many flavor and topping options! It’s fun to watch them make the ice cream, and when it’s done it’s super creamy and a really unique texture! We got the seasonal lavender honey, and the flavors balanced so well!

Great atmosphere and a wonderful concept. Perfectly located off of main street and a block away from the temple. The ice cream is delicious but the experience of watching the freezing process makes this place unique. A must see.

Delicious and fun ice cream experience. About $5 to $8 for a small to pint size. Lots of flavors and add-ons.
